1966 Ferrari 275 GTB "Long nose", s/n 08277. Originally delivered to a Viscount Portman. Could be this one: Edward Portman, 9th Viscount Portman (1934–99).[1]

  • Color: Exterior was silver grey 106-E-1 "Salchi", interior was blue VM3015.
  • Chassis type: 563. Motor type: 213. Numero interno: 1072/64. Transaxle type: 563/1015. Transaxle number: 547. Assembly number: 354. Body number: 346. One of only 7 of this model (275 GTB) with an alloy body.

  • Ordered #232 placed to factory from "Maranello concessionaires", a dealership ran out of Bournemouth by a Colonel Hoare from 1960 to 1967.[3]
  • Feb 16, 1966. Invoice from factory to "Maranello concessionaires" £2,644 tax free.
  • Feb 18, 1966. Certificate of origin issued.

Viscount Edward Portman ownership

  • May 4, 1966. Invoice from "Maranello conc." to an E. Portman, 14 Simon Close, Notting Hill Gate, London W11. To be paid: £6,009.19.09d, part exchange a Ferrari Lusso (license "CLN2B") £3,250.00. License plate "KGJ2D", standard wheels and tool kit.
  • May 9, 1966. Portman (new owner) collects car at factory (in Maranello), holidays in Italy, France (he was newly wed). Postcard from Taormina (he likes the car).
  • July 16, 1966. Portman writes (from Barn House, North Moreton, Berkshire) to Col. Ronnie Hoare. ":.. I am so glad you have solved the mystery of the aluminium body, I don't mind that much about it, as long as it is not going to spend it's life in the body repair shop. I look forward to collecting the car on Wednesday next and hope that we may see something of you. Yours ever, Eddie"
  • July 19, 1966. Hoare replies "...I am so sorry about the body of the GTB being aluminium but when you can spare the car, I can certainly make some arrangements for the inside of the wings in the most vulnerable places to be reinforced to make them less vulnerable to denting. Every good wish, Yours ever."
  • March/April 1967. Repaint exterior to Azzurro blue 106-A-32, interior still blue VM3015. , by dealer "Maranello conc."
  • August 1967. Fit radio, still "KGJ2D". Some damage. Later registered "EP151" (license plate?) according to Ferrari Owners Club (FOC).

Stanley Palmer ownership

  • 196? Sold to a G. A. Stanley Palmer of Pond House, Pinkneys green, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 6QD.
  • May 1, 1969 Tulpenrallye (Holland) entry #1, drivers Stanley Palmer and Rodney Spokes. License plate: "HVJ306D" (see picture in gallery below). Ended #8 in group 3. Color now red.
  • 1972. FOC has it as owned by Palmer and (still) HVJ3060 .
  • 1980. FOC has Palmer as owner (erroneous, he is not member and car is owned by someone else).

Mick Fleetwood etc. ownership (California)

  • 1977 (cirka). Sold to Mick Fleetwood, drummer of the Fleetwod Mac (US band).
  • August 1982. Registered to Richard Charles Dashut (1951–) of Beverly Hills, a collaborator and record producer to the Fleetwood Mac band. License plate now "128UMB"
  • November 1987. Sold to European Auto (Mike Sheehan) in Santa Monica, via surgeon and co-musician John Zambetti (also of Santa Monica, owner of several Ferraris such as #0625GT and #0289EU). Price USD 125,000, mileage recorded was 56,939

Back to UK

  • November 1987. Sold to Mike Fisher Ltd., London for USD 160,000. Immediately sold to David Collins. Discover that car is alloy. Starts "nut and bolt" restoration.
  • September 26 1989. Registered in UK as "TRX58D".
  • June 9, 2007. In the Ferrari Parade at Silverstone that set Guinness record (385 in total).[4]
  • 2015 (ca.). For sale at Mike Shannon (red, tan).[2]
