1949 OSCA MT4 1350 Vignale Berlinetta s/n 1108. This started life as a siluro (cycle fendered), but owner Luigi Villoresi had Vignale rebody it as a Berlinetta in 1951.[1] In its original form, Villoresi partook in the 1949 Pescara 500km race, taking 4th overall. Before installing the new coachwork, Villoresi had the factory install an 83hp, 1350cc MT4 2AD engine and ZF 5-speed transmission. By 1953 it had been sold; it was raced at the 1953 Internationaler Bergrekord, Grosser Bergpreis Freiburg-Schauinsland (Hillclimb), where American racer John du Puy took it to a 9th place finish. Sources state that it raced with start number 122, assigned to Emmanuel von Graffenried who did not make it to the starting line in an OSCA (presumably this car - Graffenried and du Puy were school friends and had a long standing racing partnership beginning at the 1936 Mille Miglia). Du Puy also raced it at XVI. Grosser Preis von Deutschland (Nürburgring, starting number 129) with unknown results and then at the Bern hillclimb, after which the car's history gets murky.
