The original clubhouse was built on the fore dunes by the members. Members arrived by train from Brisbane and then walked to the clubhouse from the nearby Elanora railway station. Palm Beach was very rural and undeveloped, consisting mostly of fibro holiday homes scattered along the Pacific Highway.
