- Per pale Buff and Gules, within an annulet edged with a chain of sixteen links Or, a stylized mountain bearing the profile of the “Old Man of the Mountain” facing to dexter superimposed by a pine tree on its sinister slope Vert, on the mountain peak a snow cap Argent, all fimbriated of the third.
- Crest: From a wreath Or and Buff, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.
- Motto: LINKS OF STRENGTH.

- A chain is symbolic of strong support and its links suggest a coordinated unit.
- The chain also augments the motto and a gold chain denotes durability.
- The Old Man of the Mountain, the mountain peak and the pine tree refer to New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, the tri-state home area of the organization.
- Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve: The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

[edit]- A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a disc divided vertically buff and scarlet bearing a stylized silhouette representation of the “Old Man of the Mountain” on the left, a mountain peak in the center and a pine tree on the right, all overlaid and of green with a white outline all within a gold chain of sixteen links and above a gold scroll around base inscribed “LINKS OF STRENGTH” in black.

[edit]- The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 167th Support Group on 1971-12-22.
- It was redesignated effective 2006-09-17, with the description and symbolism updated for the 167th Support Battalion.

- b.Description.
- The flag has a solid background with an embroidered American eagle displayed centered thereon.
- In its right talon the eagle holds an olive branch; in its left talon, a bundle of 13 arrows, all in proper colors.
- Its beak grasps a scroll inscribed with the unit motto.
- Below the eagle is a scroll inscribed with the designation of the organization.
- On the eagle’s breast is embroidered the shield of the coat of arms and the crest is above the eagle’s head.

- The flag is a solid color with a diagonal stripe 12 inches wide extending from upper hoist to lower fly.
- Centered on the stripe is the group’s number in Arabic numerals 8 inches high.
- The flag is fringed.

- Stripe Color: Scarlet
- Numerals or Monogram: Yellow
- Fringe: Yellow.
- d. Design
- Flags are alike on both sides.
- Design elements appear on both sides as if printed through the material except that letters and numerals will read from left to right on both sides.
Guidon

- Size:
- Hoist: 20-inches
- Fly: 27-inches
- Fork: l0 inches.
- Fringe: None.
- Letters and Numbers: 3½ inches high unless otherwise indicated.
- Design
- Guidons are made of bunting cloth or nylon, unless otherwise specified.
- Design elements will appear on the opposite side as if printed through the material.
- Letters and numerals will read from left to right on each side of the Guidon.
- When a SSI is authorized for use on the guidon, the design will appear proper on both sides.
- The guidon for the headquarters company or detachment of a Support Group is the same colors and design as the Support Group distinguishing flag.
