The mosque is located on the western part of the village square immediately north of the Seljuk Bathhouse. It is named after its builder. According to its inscription, it was rebuilt in 1876. Having been repaired several times, it stands complete today. It was mentioned as Tabakhane or Sulu Mosque by the famous traveler Evliya Çelebi. On an engraving of Hilair (1776-82), a domed mosque with a single balcony minaret is depicted. At the northern entrance of the mosque is an anteroom built as a wooden roofed riwaq (portic) supported by eight wooden columns.
