Hello Xqt!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Commons bot inactivity

Unbemerkter Edit-Konflikt auf Diskussionsseiten in Verbindung mit dem Verlust von Mitteilungen

Hallo xqt, Raymond hat mich an Dich verwiesen als Experten zur API der MediaWiki-Software. Heute wurde eine Mitteilung von mir durch einen Bot ungewollt entfernt. Der Bot-Betreiber sieht jedoch keine Möglichkeit, das Problem zu beheben. Seiner Aussage zufolge gab es bei der API keine Rückmeldung über einen Editier-Konflikt. Er hat jetzt bei seinem Bot nur eine Verzögerung eingebaut – damit wird so ein Ereignis etwas weniger wahrscheinlich, verhindert wird es jedoch nicht. Stimmt es, dass die API keine transaktionsbasierten Änderungen einer Seite erlaubt? Viele Grüße, AFBorchert (talk) 19:10, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Hallo Andreas, das Problem ist bekannt, allerdings haben wir auf Pywikibot-Seite so gut wie alle Möglichkeiten ausgeschöpft und sind daher eher ratlos. Was der API-Treiber tut, weiß ich nicht. Die letzte Revisions-ID der gelesenen Seite wird jedenfalls mit dem dem Schreibvorgang mit übertragen, damit die Revisionen verglichen werden können. Das reicht aber offensichtlich nicht, wenn die Requests gleichzeitig ankommen. Die Verzögerung könnte vielleicht in der Tat helfen, wenn die Bearbeitungen nach einem Löschantrag sehr schnell abnehmen. Gruß  @xqt 13:04, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
