Re Syria/Iraq insurgency map[edit]
Hiya - saw you reverted back to your previous version of this map, but didn't provide a link to justify the rather large addition you made to Kurdish territory. Has this been reliably reported? At time of writing Jarabulus, Dabiq and al-Rai are controlled by Islamic State/ISIS (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/07/01/the-gateway-to-isis-s-caliphate-abandon-all-hope-ye-who-enter-here.html) - it's currently their main link to the outside world. Jarabulus was one of their first emirates (https://pando.com/2014/09/28/the-war-nerd-lets-put-islamic-states-menacing-advance-into-perspective-by-looking-at-a-map/) so losing it would be huge news. At the very least I'd expect to see a massive buzz about this on social media.
Are you perhaps confusing it with the recent connection of Kobane with Cizire via former IS border town Tel Abyad? As far as I know Afrin remains discontiguous and Kurdish users on Twitter were outraged by the proposal that Turkey could move troops into the corridor between Afrin and Kobane. I wasn't sure if you had perhaps seen the maps floating around on Twitter showing the so-called Mare Line - the proposed neutral zone Turkey was allegedly planning to establish - and confused it with advances by the YPG.
I don't want to step on anyone's toes, so I thought I'd check in and see if you had a source for this rather than reverting it again. Metaauthor (talk) 11:41, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
Notification about possible deletion[edit]
Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Hello.
In File:World Speed Limits.svg, can you add South Sudan which is still shown as part of Sudan from which it seceded in 2011?
Any information about that war-torn country is very hard to find, whatever the topic - let alone speed limits which I couldn't find. That is why South Sudan is often left blank in many maps, when its borders are drawn. Since there is a "no information" category in the color gray in the map for countries and territories, South Sudan can be included.
Can you also color the Svalbard archipelago? The maximum speed limit in the Svalbard archipelago is 80 km/h, which requires the color red. Currently the islands are colored in gray, which are categorized as having no information. Here is a source from the official website of the Governor of Svalbard: https://www.sysselmannen.no/en/Residents/Motorized-traffic/
Thank you.
