Adding limit suport[edit]

Well, it's not actually protected, but I don't want to mess up a widely used template....so please consider this a call for help from someone clueful about template editing/copying. Will this work if I copy it to TOCright? I'm trying to get the limit parameter to work.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elvey (talk • contribs) 27. 10. 2010, 06:58 (UTC)

Well, it could work, but it only adds a CSS class, to make it actually work, you would need to define the classes in MediaWiki:Common.css (I guess you are using the idea from en, where en:MediaWiki:Common.css does include the class definitions.) --Mormegil (talk) 18:22, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

min-width:18em;[edit]

It is not currently found in the wikitext for the Wikipedia version of the template: en:Template:TOC right.

For those who copy this template (or variations of it) to wikis outside Wikimedia min-width:18em; is a problem on wikis with narrow formats such as at Wikia. This is because it does not allow the TOC to float all the way to the right on pages with short section headings. So on Wikia the TOCright with min-width:18em; can unnecessarily squeeze the text floating around it to the left.

See a Wikia version of TOCright here. It is a very simple adaptation of the Commons TOCright.--Timeshifter (talk) 22:49, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
