This is not a map of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia/SCS, but of "historical Yugoslavia", as it is written in the map legend. It shows the historical Yugoslav lands, from the POV of the author. Northern Greece was never part of Yugoslavia. Zhmr (talk) 13:29, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it rather looks like a combination of actual borders in 1920 and historical borders of South Slavic states. I think that extension into Greece is in fact depicted border of Empire of Stefan Dušan. However, map legend is not readable, so we cannot know for sure. My point exactly - the map is a strange amalgam. But the problem is the title, the filename. It infers the borders shown are actual borders of the Kingdom in 1920. The map can only lead to misunderstandings, while explaining nothing. The only possible worth (and this is how this map is used in articles) is for the Baranja-Bačka-Banat. I've seen you've made a map of this region yourself, so we can use that. This file should be renamed or deleted altogether. Zhmr (talk) 13:38, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And what would be basis or reason for deletion? This is an old map and there are many mistakes in many old maps and they are not deleted because of that. But, there is no proof that this map contains mistakes. I think that aim of map author was to compare 1920 Yugoslavia with medieval Serbian Empire and I do not see why such comparison cannot be shown in map. As for renaming, I am not against it and you can propose another name for this file if you wish. PANONIAN (talk) 17:17, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there are many mistakes in old maps, but this is a modern map. Mistakes in a map created in 1520 are seen as just that - mistakes. Adding it to an article, if nothing else, improves it aesthetically. It is different with modern maps. They are seen as truth, as a valid source. Modern maps showing conflicting information muddle an issue, and this results in confusion instead of education. So it's not a case of 'the more the merrier'. And you have blatant mistakes, like the western borders of Bosnia (and eastern too, since the modern and medieval borders between Bosnia and Serbia/Montenegro are not the same). Also, this map was published in 1922 (the dates given are either '1922' or 'circa 1920'), after both Trianon (Croatian territories across Mura?) and the Carinthian Plebiscite. From what I've seen, this wasn't published in the US, but in London. Copyright status? Zhmr (talk) 19:04, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
