@Colin: Just to let you know: It is also FoP that allows you to paint a building. So without FoP you wouldn't even be allowed to publish this version of the picture ;) // Martin K. (talk) 19:27, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Martin K., a proper painting yes. Not sure my "Shard" triangle would breach any copyright :-) Perhaps the Gherkin is close enough of a copy to worry some lawyer. I decided to draw outlines, with minimal details, so that the buildings were still recognisable. Completely-blacked-out photos can be just a bit too lacking in identifying details. Actually, since the scene is the view from Tower Bridge in its wide panorama, each building is de minimis and I believe would be accepted even if UK had no FOP. However if one were to make a crop of just the Shard bit or just the Gherkin bit, then that would be an issue. Like the Louvre Pyramid examples. So really the image is more useful to indicate what you wouldn't be allowed to photograph, as a sole subject, in a modern city. I see you've made one for Frankfurt. -- Colin (talk) 20:38, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
