This is the reproduction of a lithograph by George E. Madeley. Another example was acquired by the British Museum in the 1880. The museum's description is: Sir Charles Dances' Steam Carriage - View of a steam powered carriage with an omnibus attached behind powering down Wellington Street, Strand; a dog chasing the wheels, two riders travelling parallel to the coach, a group of figures in left and right hand corners watching the carriage go by. 1833 Lithograph.

Dance financed several companies that built steam road vehicles. He was also the backer of Goldsworthy Gurney. Dance had bought three of them in 1831, and installed a regular line between Cheltenham and Gloucester.--Chief tin cloud (talk) 20:57, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
