The factual accuracy of this map or the file name is disputed. Reason: The Pew Research Center, an American government-linked think tank, is totally unreliable. The statistics for both China (60+ million) and India (20+ million) are hugely inflated. Pew's general report on world religiosity makes use of groundless or decades old statistics for nearly all world countries.

See Appendix C (Methodology for China) and a note about India included in this report. All statistics are from 2000-2010, with an exception of the Marshall Islands and Solomon Islands (1999). Both are nevertheless too small to be shown on this map. So, the statistics are not "decades long".
