Legend needed[edit]

Can somebody add a legend? I don't know the difference between dark and light green. Also the map is wrong. France doesn't recognise it.

After reading the article Armenian Genocide recognition on Wikipedia, I suspect the light green countries are those that either:
a) recognize the Armenian genocide at state level (for instance the US, 43 out of 50 states)
b) recognize the mass killings of Armenians during WWI, but do not want to go as far as calling it genocide.

I'm not quite sure though. To be honest, I find the light green category confusing. IMHO it should be removed and only countries that recognize the genocide at national level should be included.

Hi.I'm pretty sure that light green is for the countries which have at least one territorial community recognizing the genocide.

Turkey?[edit]

Turkey's Greens Party officialy doesn't describe it as genocide! Personal views of the spokesperson of the party, has been projected as the party's official statement. I've never seen such a tweet under #greenCouncil in Twitter and no any official press release or statement on party's official website [1]. I didn't found any independent sources about this without Armenian-based news. If you have a reliable source or recognition statement in the official address of the party, please share. Alaska[edit]

When the USA was filled in as a national recognition the editor forgot to recolor Alaska --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 09:51, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Alaska - Mistake[edit]

Warning! Alaska is not depicted as american (-> recognition of the genocide). Could someone fix this? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheWasalpha (talk • contribs) 11:40, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hawaii[edit]

It seems Hawaii was also omitted!

If an editor can please add, in addition to Alaska.

Libya[edit]

In the map, Libya is given a dark green colour to indicate a country that has recognised the Genocide. However, Libya has two rival governments and I am only aware of the Eastern Government having formally recognised the Armenian Genocide. Unless there is some evidence for the Western Government recognising the Genocide as well, I think it is biased to have one faction to have recognised the whole country.

Denmark[edit]

Denmark should be grey on this map. The bill passed in 2017 condemned Turkish media's banning of Turks using the term 'genocide' about the events, but Parliament also explicitly refrained from issuing its own judgement on whether it was in fact a genocide.
