Attempt to identify the place

[edit]

This point seems to be very close to the point of this shot. Note the cracked facing of the bridge in both images. Vcohen (talk) 22:20, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's pleasant to think I identified it correctly in the first place. Anyway I hope to awake early enough to revisit Tottenville late tomorrow morning, Thursday, and will surely get an accurate location of any station or similar structure that I snap along the line. Any results? Here is how I see the same detail at the other two stations in Tottenville: one and two. I think it looks quite different. Vcohen (talk) 15:45, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Too busy the past couple days, and maybe also tomorrow, to examine my pictures properly. For that matter being unexpectedly late Thursday morning, I snapped hastily while chasing down my biker buddies but yes, visiting the former Nassau Smelting & Refining site on the north side of the station, it looked much like this picture. Hmm; still have things to do after dealing with other biker business, but surely I've got time to set a geotag and restore your correct categorization. Thanks for your patience. My mind was stuck on the idea that all my street pictures of that part of the line were from the south. Returning to that desolate place triggered the correct memory of my earlier visit. Nowadays I take many establishing shots, not to be uploaded but to remember context. I have less wisdom and less sorrow. Living across the ocean, my only possibility is to use Google Maps Street View. :^) Vcohen (talk) 08:43, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
