No known photograph exists of Mills Darden[edit]

In some Guinness Book of World Records, possibly an almanac or Book of Lists, I read about how Mills Darden had to be incredibly strong even to move his body. Also, that entry said that no known photograph exists of him. Therefore, this photo appears to be doctored or fake. Pepp5 (talk) 21:07, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

" No photos of Miles Darden exist. But photos of signs about him do. " Pepp5 (talk) 21:17, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The wordpress blog is not a reliable source. Equally unverifiable is [1] which states "This image was shot from an ambrotype as can be seen by the lead being scratched off the back. Thus, it is likely in Darden's lifetime. This image was analyzed by the Governor Gordon Browning Museum and archives in McKenzie Tennessee." This will take a lot more sleuthing than a simple search.--☾Loriendrew☽ (talk) 20:57, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So they are *both* unverifiable? The photo looks doctored or fake to me - and my opinion of them, of course, is not verifiable. Sigh. I think it's just a sign of people desperately wanting to see a historical photo of a legendary person. Angus MacAskill has many photos of himself that are much more realistic looking and verifiable. Oh well, I tried. Pepp5 (talk) 23:48, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
