Is there a reason the fields from the original photo were removed?

[edit]

The original file (linked here) has crop fields and different coloration than the modified version. I understand editing the coloration to be better and make the aircraft's details more visible, but the removal of the fields seems unnecessary. Original prints of the photograph have the fields in them, and I believe it would be better to use either the original file, or a beautified version of the original file (simply through color changes, and no actual removal or replacement of original content) that does not remove the fields, as it better reflects the location that photo was taken in and is more accurate to the original photo without sacrificing the content of the original.
