User:Mrmw This says it's derived from File:Umlaufbahnen_Planeten.svg, but Mercury doesn't match. Is this image more astronomically correct? What data is it based on? It also doesn't match File:Inner Planet Orbits 02.svg exactly. — Omegatron (talk) 15:28, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I compared with https://calgary.rasc.ca/images/orbits_to_mars.gif from https://calgary.rasc.ca/orbits.htm and it's very close when rotated 90 degrees, and File:Inner Planet Orbits 02.svg is, too (I'm not sure why I saw them as different earlier). So it seems File:Umlaufbahnen_Planeten.svg is incorrect. — Omegatron (talk) 01:35, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As of 2023-01-15, this image is plain wrong. The SVG file draws circles while the planets rotate in ellipses. --RolandIllig (talk) 20:42, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
