Serious errors

[edit]

This contains serious errors. There are green areas, allegedly conquered by Huayna Cápac and small (dark green-blue and cyan) areas in the far north, allegedly conquered by Huáscar and Atahualpa. However:

  • the vast "green" area in the south (east, west of Lake Titicaca and south of it - today in Bolivia, Chile and Argentina - were conquered by Túpac in the 1470's and 1480' - therefore the area must be in light brown color
  • the small green areas in the north (east of Cajamarca, south Ecuador) were conquered by Huayna Cápac - no change is needed here
  • however the two areas assigned to Huáscar and Atahulapa are sheer nonsense. Shortly after Huayna Cápac's death, a bloody civil war between his sons Huáscar (based in Cuzco) and Atahualpa (in Quito) began, which lasted several years until the Spanish conquest in 1532. Surely, neither of them conquered territories in the North (and Huáscar never even came half-way to the North). There two areas must be assigned to Huayna Cápac as well (=green)

Interestingly, the documentation of Inca-expansion.png says "File:Inca Expansion.svg is a vector version of this file. It should be used in place of this raster image when not inferior." -- Wassermaus (talk) 14:36, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
