Moved discussion from Image talk:Pinus sylvestris wood.jpg (former name of this image)[edit]

(This discussion page is refering to Image:Pinus sylvestris wood1a.jpg and Image:Holz Kiefer1.jpg)

Is this really Pinus sylvestris (Scots Pine)???? - indeed it looks to me very much more like Picea abies (Norway Spruce)! Reasons: No colour diff. between sap-wood and heart-wood; too light coloured knots; small "adventive" knots not present in pines. Taxelson 18:20, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - MPF 15:31, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The two boards to the left are both of Pine tree wood (Pinus Sylvestris) , and the one to the right is of spruce wood (Picea Abies).

This is an image to compare Pine and Spruce wood: Taxelson 21:46, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
