Particle size categories

[edit]

100nm is equal to 0.1micron, so the "<100nm"-categorie equals the "<0.1μm"-categorie.--Pcmadman (talk) 15:24, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

en:HEPA says "[d]iffusion predominates below the 0.1 μm diameter particle size. Impaction and interception predominate above 0.4 μm." It may be best to remove these numbers from the diagram since they are not exact. Walter Siegmund (talk) 00:36, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've read the description again and I now get what is actually meant. The <100nm categorie should be "0,1μm to 1μm". Then also the order should be changed. If it bothers you that the numbers are not exact (which wouldn't bother me because that seems logical) you could add a symbol to indicate that the numbers are approximate, e.g. "~". Also a title could be added e.g. "Dominant mechanism for filtration" but this would slightly clutter the illustration with text imho.--Pcmadman (talk) 09:54, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
