The "claimed border" is pretty much the Mashriq... AnonMoos (talk) 05:53, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy[edit]

One more of these "Greater Iraq" bullshit maps. Yes, there is a "Greater Syria" concept existing, as well as "Greater Israel", "Greater Armenia" and so on. However, neither the Hashemites nor The Baathists ever announced a "Greater Iraq" plan officially. You cannot abstract a "Greater Iraq" from "Greater Syria". The Hashemites never called it "Greater Iraq", they called it "Arab Union" or "Unity of the Fertile Crescent", later also "Unity of the Euphrat valley", but never "Greater Iraq". This word combination is your own creation. The Iraqi branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party also adopted the idea of the United Fertile Crescent or the United Euphrat valley but moreover they wanted the leadership in the whole Arab world (watan) from Mauretania to Oman. The Baath would not have been satisfied with a "Greater Iraq" only. Therefore Baathist parties also exist(ed) in Mauritania, Sudan, Yemen and Bahrain. By the way, all Baathist and other Arab Nationalist parties see the Turkish Sanjak of Alexandrette as part of the Arab fatherland... but this you forgot in your own created map. And one more thing: Beside Jordan also Syria was in a union with Iraq for a short time. If you do not know enough then better you keep the fingers off that topic. Please do not become angry about this advice. --Roxanna (talk) 08:30, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
