First are foremost, this is a great infographic that helps with the understanding of gene cloning. There is an error though: The bacteria at the top which is teal but contains the LacZ gene which should make it 'blue', not the teal. The color at the top is the 'uncolored' (teal) of the bottom. It should be blue, not teal. The bacteria that took up the uninterrupted lacZ gene would be blue and the interrupted ones would be uncolored (teal), as stated at the bottom. But step 8 infers the bacteria with non-recombinant plasmids would 'turn blue' and bacteria with recombinant plasmids would 'remain original color'. This is a simple misunderstanding since the cell containing the gene of interest is different from the bacteria with the plasmids containing AB resistance, but you use the same design on the bottom as you do the bacteria at the top, so it easy to get mixed up.
