Greece[edit]

This map is factually wrong, Hellas should be green like the UK, there is full freedom of panorama in Hellas, there are no restrictions in what or who you can photograph in public and no restrictions in publishing or selling the resulting photos or videos for any non-commercial use (editorial/journalistic or artistic). Joxi Szriasztista (talk) 20:49, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect. Hellas (aka Greece) does not have freedom of panorama currently, at least not in the way that Wikimedia projects are not affected. Tsoukali (talk) 08:05, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In the dicussion about the Wikipedia Signpost article folks apparently arrived at the conclusion that Greece should be yellow instead of red. But the FAQ on Meta lists Greece as "no FoP" together with Belgium, France, Italy, and Luxembourg. –Be..anyone (talk) 00:51, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo[edit]

Someone alerted me that this map still shows Kosovo as part of Serbia. Could someone update it? --C3o (talk) 20:57, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@C3o: If you would like to change this, the right place to address your concerns is at File talk:Blank map of Europe.svg, the source of this image. It seems like somebody already posted about it, however. Since nobody objected, I would recommend being bold and doing it yourself. Fern 24 (talk) 08:56, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lithuania[edit]

Different problem, the image shows Lithuania as light-green (FoP for buildings) like Denmark and Finland, but the FAQ on Meta lists Lithuania as "non-commercial" together with Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and Slovenia. Should it be yellow? –Be..anyone (talk) 00:51, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lithuania is yellow on the map. Romaine (talk) 08:02, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I confused it, sorry. –Be..anyone (talk) 02:20, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sweden[edit]

So, according to the decision announced today by Swedish Supreme Court, would someone, please, colour Sweden black, or at least red? It would be actually better to have its own colour, as it is (as far as I know) the only country in Europe that has FoP only offline. --Oop (talk) 15:54, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

LoL, I'd certainly support (not execute) your suggestion, but please add a link to the "evidence" for this oops (pun intended). Be..anyone (talk) 16:09, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Swedish Supreme Court Decision (in Swedish) / Article from the guardian (English) --Wimmel (talk) 17:16, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(Edited comment): Changed to red, nobody cares about offline. It's a very clean SVG file, you can download it, edit it in a text editor, and upload it again for better ideas than "red".Be..anyone (talk) 17:23, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please change to grey (as in inconclusive). FOP certainly still exists in Sweden, and any photographer can still take photos. Whether Commons can exploit those photos is a different question. Its possible that buildings are still OK.
Note it is also not "offline-only", online is still OK - its online within a database that's dodgy.--Nilfanion (talk) 10:42, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, but if you change it please keep Freedom of Panorama in Europe.svg etc. in synch. –Be..anyone (talk) 12:12, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Netherlands[edit]

Hi,

Why is the Netherlands green in this map, while in the other maps it is marked with blue, what does the "NC" in the title impley? Ciell (talk) 20:13, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ciell: hello. NC means "noncommercial". The map shows FOP in Europe from the off-wiki (outside Wikimedian) perspective, to include noncommercial. IMO it is from the average people's POV and not Wikimedian POV. Note also the yellow designations for countries that have no Commons-applicable FOP's, like Slovenia and Romania. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 04:29, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JWilz12345: Thank you for your reply. This is confusing, because the Dutch law does allow commercial use of FOP-images afaik? The difference is what is considered a public place, not in the intent of reuse of the image. Therefore imho it is not correct to use the abbreviation 'NC' here. Ciell (talk) 12:22, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ciell: I think the main intention of this map is for general audience perspective, and not the Wikimedian (our) perspective, which is highlighted at File:Freedom of Panorama in Europe.svg. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 12:33, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But still: what is the meaning of the "NC" in the name of this file? Ciell (talk) 14:49, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ciell I already said above. NC, means "non-commercial". JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 14:48, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ukraine[edit]

Ukraine's adopted a new copyright law in 2023, and should be yellow in this map given that there is freedom of panorama for non-commercial uses now. OlesYakovyshyn (talk) 23:00, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
