Uncertain of public domain status. Assumed to be published prior to 1923, but not completely sure about the publication date for this image. Moreover, Virtual Museum of Canada may retain copyright.}}
The virtual museum of canada indicate the provenance of this image Virtual museum of Canada that is «Père Alexis, Le Canada héroïque et pittoresque, 1927 - Musée de la civilisation, Séminaire de Québec Library, 651.4 ». So it seems to be PD-Canada. The virtual museum don't have right on something that is not even the author. -- ChristianT (talk) 15:59, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for finding the provenance. So was this image copyrighted in the US? If it is published in 1927, does it violate PD rules for the US? --AlphaEta (talk) 16:39, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- As for File:Brewster_Higley_VI.jpg, i think that a regular deletion template will be preferable. It will also permit to people with more knowledge than me to evaluate the licence. I will also transfer this discussion on the talk page. -- ChristianT (talk) 17:26, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
