This isn't the right color[edit]

I made a change in Paint 3D to make it more yellowish color. Would this be good? Benjaminkirsc (talk) 22:23, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Flag colors[edit]

Per current NJ statute 52:2A-1, the main two colors on the flag (blue on the shield and buff for the background) "shall be buff and Jersey blue. For the purposes of this act the specifications, references and designations for the official colors of the State are as follows: Jersey Blue (Cable No. 70087, Royal Blue. The Color Association of the United States, Inc.) [and] Buff (Cable No. 65015, U.S. Army Buff. The Color Association of the United States, Inc.)." (see also Pantone and hex approximations for those and other minor colors here.) However, these are not the colors used on the current version of the file, with any changes to match the above often being reverted because "in practice, these colors are not the official ones in use." Regardless, I want to have a discussion to determine which versions of the colors should be used for the file, and if it falls on colors which are "in use in practice" rather than anything specified by statute or by an NJ government official, if different and applicable, how those color shades should be determined. The same could technically go for the state seal and coat of arms. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 18:37, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The file should reflect that actual flag in use. See here for the state website clearly showing the yellower shade in actual use. The difference could be from many reasons, not the least of which is that the federal standards of color have actually been actually changed since the 1960s when the current version of the statute was implemented. Either way the color is distinctly yellow, not brown. I have restored the previous version that actually shows the correct color. oknazevad (talk) 20:18, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
