This isn't a great example of being en pointe. The dancer in this photograph appears to either be in plie or not using correct pointe technique. The dancer is not fully on the box of her shoe. There is a better picture of a foot en pointe on the Wikipedia page en pointe. Compare these two photographs (image the latter on two feet since it only displays one foot).
