Does anyone know the Pre-history of De Zwaan, before it was brought over to the USA from the Netherlands, in 1964? Looking for any stories of how the windmill was used to rescue US pilots during WWII. I heard that the downed pilots or soldiers could take refuge in the windwill and that when it was safe to pick them up, the blades were set at a certain angle signifying to flyboys that it was safe to come in and retrieve them.
