Comet identity

So this is apparently in the cover of a Polish book about Halley's Comet. How the uploader concluded that this is a photo of comet C/1947 S1 (Bester) and not comet Halley? It looks nothing like other photos of comet Bester eg.The Spectrum of Comet Bester (1947k).. C messier (talk) 13:13, 20 August 2023 (UTC)

PS, I may be mistaken, but from what I can find, the 1950 issues of the Astrophysical Journal were published without copyright notice and as such they are in public domain due to failure to comply with required formalities. --C messier (talk) 07:38, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
