A governor general in a Commonwealth Realm uses his or her own arms, sometimes enhanced with additional elements such as a charge, supporters, or the annulus of an order of chivalry or merit. The arms here are the national arms of Malta with the mural crown replaced with a royal helm and the St Edward's Crown.
