Date of the picture CanalStBroadwayOfNOLAWestEndStreetcar800Block[edit]

I can offer at least one clue to the date of this picture. Car 043, in the left foreground, was one of the batch of "Palace" cars ordered in 1902 (Ref.: Hennick & Charleton, The Streetcars of New Orleans). So if it was published in 1908, we have a bracket for the date of the picture.

Also, in the center foreground, one can just make out the end of a track in the center of the neutral ground; the track extends behind the photographer. This was the terminal of the West End line; hence the West End sign hanging over the street.

The cross street in the foreground is Baronne on the right, Dauphine on the left. (But you knew that.)

Wonderful picture!
