Poor photo quality

This picture was taken on a bright, sunny, late-autumn afternoon. The colors should have been brilliant, but the quality of the original was so poor as to be almost unsalvageable. The exposure was wrong, resulting in a very dark image. Although gamma correction was able to bring some detail out, the dynamic range of the original left very little with which to work. Also, the subject isn't all that interesting; it wasn't necessary to upload the file in 3,872×2,592 original camera resolution, putting a serious strain on storage resources. A bit of forethought and pre-processing before submitting materials to Wikimedia Commons would help everyone. —Quicksilver^@ 17:10, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
