The current file i feel isn't nearly descriptive or intuative enough, and should be replaced by something like , which makes a great deal more sense. Jack · talk · 21:09, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

I agree, but this is used in some wikis' (default) toolbars so that would be the place to change it (the file is set in the site's javascript: MediaWiki:Common.js or a script that that imports, e.g. en:MediaWiki:Common.js/edit.js). Just because this file is called "Button small text" doesn't mean those wikis had to use it for that purpose but they decidedly do so. Personally, I would change it to something more like the new small text button used in the vector/beta interface: [1] and [2] for big text. Rocket000 (talk) 18:21, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

•  Not done: You know, I must admit that I prefer your new buttons over the current ones, but we can't overwrite the existing buttons with those. Many wikis are using them, and it's not our decision which buttons they should use. You can recommand the wikis to use your buttons, but we (Wikimedia Commons) can't decide which button another wiki should use. Here on Commons, you can make an {{Editprotected}} on MediaWiki:Common.js, and you'll have my support. Same applies to other wikis. This button image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}. It is recommended to name the SVG file “Button small text.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
