ID mushroom

Hi all, the name of this mushroom was put to question on the Dutch Wikipedia biology forum [1], where someone does not think this is Helvella crispa. If anyone knows more about the topic, please let us know. All the best, Taketa (talk) 16:31, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Probably a Xerocomus species, certainly not Helvella. --Joostik (talk) 14:53, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

@Agnes Monkelbaan and Joostik: Hello Agnes. I hope you are well. Please look at pictures of Helvella crispa, which in Dutch is "Witte Kluifzwam". It is a totally different type of fungus from the one in the photo, in fact it is an ascomycete. I forgot about this photo for some years, but now I think we should correct the identification. I agree with Joostik that it is probably a Xerocomus (sensu largo), but I am not sure and so I intend to recategorize it as "Unidentified Boletaceae".
