Proposal to move file to a new “Neutral” title

The authenticity of the information in wikimedia commons is being questioned as a result of the fact-checking and controversies surrounding the file's title in recent days.

An IFCN-verified fact-checking signatory, “Rumor Scanner” is investigating this image and has already published an article explicitly challenging the authenticity of this wikimedia commons file. We have already witnessed how the title of this wikimedia commons file has the potential to ignite political instability in specific regions, threatening the lives of millions of people. Two significant political parties may be placed in front of one another on the topic of this image file.

The file has been renamed as a result of the Rumor Scanner article, and this incident has received attention in the Rumor Scanner social media community. The removal of "Daily Star," one of the most reliable news agencies (which was the actual source of this image), and the addition of "Rumor Scanner" has taken place following the previously mentioned incident. Fact-checkers like Rumor Scanner cannot be the source, and since the "Daily Star" is where this image originated, the news agency itself should be questioned rather than wikimedia commons. If things get worse, we might need to take T&S action because there's a good chance that there will be life-threatening political turmoil, putting the uploader and the file mover who renamed the file in particular at serious risk.

I suggest renaming this file for the time being, until the argument is settled, to "Mass gathering in Dhaka Racecourse Maidan," which is more neutral and takes the focus off of Wikimedia Commons.

@Wasiul Bahar আপনি কী বুঝাতে চাচ্ছেন? ডেইলি স্টারের কী ভুল হতে পারে না? এটি তো ডেইলি স্টারের নিজস্বও ছবি নয়, তারা ফেসবুক থেকে নিয়ে পুনঃপ্রকাশ করেছে। নাকি রুমর স্কানার ভুল? I didn't implicate any support towards any of the involving parties. We, the wikimedians are noone to appraise anyone, we are to spit facts with citations. The current description of the page is clearly a breach of the NPOV principal. I'm not in favor of any type of polarization keeping the possible greater risk ahead. Please don't impose any jurisdiction depending on any weak assumption, you are kindly asked to read and understand my previous message before doing so. I opined to minimize the risk adopting strategic steps and shift the focus while keeping wikimedia editors safe in the context of possible future anarchy. I, again, request my fellow wikimedians not to bring any changes in the page without prior discussion as that would engage you in the debate which may expose you to possible harm. @আফতাবুজ্জামানবাংলায় না বলার জন্য দুঃখিত, ইদানিং বেশ কিছু কারণে বাংলায় লেখা চরম বিরক্তিকর ব্যাপার হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। আমি ইংরেজিতেই যথেষ্ট স্বচ্ছন্দ বোধ করি, অন্তত কিছু নির্দিষ্ট জায়গায়।

এখানে কে ঠিক, কে ভুল, তা যাচাই করা উইকিমিডিয়ার কোনো প্রকল্পের দায়িত্ব নয়। যেহেতু এই বিতর্কিত ছবির পেছনে দুটো প্রভাবশালী দলের দাবি আছে, তাই সেখানে বিচার করতে যাওয়া আরো বেশি ঠিক নয়। কে সঠিক, কে ভুল, সেটি যাচাই করা, কিংবা সেটি একেবারে মূল পাতায় লিখে দেয়া উইকিমিডিয়ার নিরপেক্ষ দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিকে লঙ্ঘন করে। এবং অনুগ্রহপূর্বক আলাপ পাতায় কোনো আলোচনা বাদে মূল পাতায় পরিবর্তন করবেন না, ধন্যবাদ। Wasiul Bahar (talk) 19:52, 25 December 2022 (UTC)

@Wasiul Bahar, বাংলায় লেখা তথা নিজের মাতৃভাষায় লিখতে যদি চরম বিরক্তিকর মনে করেন, তবে তা খুব দুঃখজনক :( যাইহোক, তা এই আলোচনার বিষয় না।

"এখানে কে ঠিক, কে ভুল, তা যাচাই করা উইকিমিডিয়ার কোনো প্রকল্পের দায়িত্ব নয়" কেন নয়? জেনে শুনে কেন ভুল তথ্য লিখব। দুটো রাজনৈতিক দলের দাবি দেখে কেন সঠিকটি লিখব না? সঠিকটি মূল পাতায় লিখে দিলে কীভাবে এটি নিরপেক্ষ দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিকে লঙ্ঘন করে? নিরপেক্ষ দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি মানে এই না যে ভুলটিও রাখতে হবে। রুমর স্কানার বিস্তারিত ব্যাখ্যা ও তথ্যপ্রমাণ দিয়েছে। প্রয়োজনে ডেইলি স্টারকে সরিয়ে ফেলা যায়, ডেইলি স্টার এই ছবির মূল উৎস নয়, তারা ফেসবুক থেকে নিয়ে ছবিটি প্রকাশ করেছে ২০১৮ সালে, একই ছবি উদাহরণ এখানে ২০১২ সালে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 20:08, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
