Nederlands: De jaarlijkse maritieme operatie Eager Archer verliep voortvarend met het ruimen van 4 mijnen, op 28 mei. De mijnenjagers Zr. Ms. Makkum, Zierikzee en Urk en het hydrografisch opnemingsvaartuig Zr. Ms. Luymes deden dit na vertrek uit Den Helder, richting de Oostzee.
De schepen gaan daar deelnemen aan Baltops, de grote internationale oefening van de Standing NATO Mine Counter Measures Group 1 (SNMCMG-1). De aanwezigheid van dit NAVO-vlootverband is tevens bedoeld ter geruststelling van de Baltische staten, die zich bedreigd voelen door Rusland. |
