English: An Up freight on the ECML approaching York Yard North. View northward, towards Skelton Junction, Darlington, Newcastle etc.; ex-North Eastern ECML. The Class H freight, headed by Thompson K1 2-6-0 No. 62057, is coming off the Main Goods lines on the Down side to access the York Up Yard. Beyond it on the Up side is another freight, headed by a BR Standard 2-10-0. In the 1950s, in 24 hours about 50 freight trains passed this point each way. |
