Gallowayella weberi (S. Kondr. & Kärnefelt) L. Lindblom Image location: Sewanee, Franklin Co., Tennessee, USA Location: 35°12’15.59"N, 85°55’13.48"W, el. 589 m. Central Campus. Substrate: Growing on the bark of a large American Elm, Ulmus americana, mostly within 1 m of the ground and, in another part of town, on the bark of a large hackberry, Celtis occidentalis. Both trees are beside well-traveled village roads. Habitat: Urban area in the central campus, beside principal roads through town. Photos: Central campus, 25 feb 2009: 37558-37567 Central campus, 26 feb 2009: 37652-37654, 38362-36368 Chemistry: cortex C-, K+ purple. Note added on 08 Mar 2009: Thank you, Gary. Lindblom distinguishes between the western Xanthomendoza fulva and the southeastern Xanthomendoza weberi. Her figures 1 and 4 illustrate the differences.
