Notes This was likely a preliminary study for a later painting, Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania, 1897, oil on canvas, 16 1/4 x 30 inches. Cropsey also painted a third Wyoming Valley painting Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania, 1864, oil on canvas, 15 x 24 inches which is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
