Deutsch: ** Große Zeiten. Eine Expedition zu Expeditionen als Gemeinschaftsaufgabe **

Als erste Etappe der Veranstaltungsreihe "Wissensreise" hatten der Stifterverband und die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft zu einer besonderen Lesung am 11. Februar 2020 in Hamburg eingeladen. "Reiseleiterin" war die Meeresbiologin und Communicator-Preisträgerin Antje Boetius, die Einblicke in die wissenschaftliche Arbeit vor 100 Jahren gab. An ihrer Seite war der Schauspieler Peter Weis: Er las aus Originalbriefen, die Teilnehmer berühmter Forschungsexpeditionen geschrieben hatten — Alfred Merz, Willi Rickmer Rickmers und Alfred Wegener hatten zwischen 1925 und 1931 den Atlantik, das zentralasiatische Pamir-Gebirge bzw. Grönland erkundet. Was sie aufgezeichnet hatten, vermittelte ein authentischen Eindruck davon, unter welchen entbehrungsreichen Bedingungen damals geforscht wurde.
