Summary

[edit]
Description
English: White Nothe former coastguard cottages, Dorset, England. These ex-coastguard cottages are on top of the White Nothe headland, and at around 150 metres above sea level, they are the highest dwellings on the Dorset coastline. They face southwest towards the Isle of Portland and the prevailing winds. The poet Llewellyn Powys once rented the end cottage and described the November gales vividly, when seaweed was thrown onto the cliff top and slates from the cottage roofs were hurled over the ploughlands "like sycamore leaves".
