Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Where Once Thundered Trains Looking across the River Eye towards the embankment that carried the Great Northern and London and North Western Joint Railway to Melton Mowbray North station. The original railway bridge has gone, though the cast iron support pillars and a badly decayed wooden cutwater remain. A footbridge, that doesn't seem particularly robust, has been put in place for the permissive path that follows the line of the railway. Geographers David Lally and Stephen MacKay can be seen 'eyeing' up the river. |
