Summary

[edit]
Description
English: What it's all about Fuel oil rising to the surface, having escaped from the wreck. When she was torpedoed, the Royal Oak turned upside down trapping most of the crew: 833 men died. Fuel oil inside the wreck has been caught inside the hull, but inevitably some escapes. Every year for the last decade, the MoD has arranged for "taps" to be placed in the hull and the oil to be drained off.
