Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Marine Lake in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England. It was created in 1929 by building a second causeway to Knightstone Island, thereby creating a sea water lake; the tide at Weston-super-Mare has the second highest range in the world and so swimming in the sea is only practical for a short period either side of high tide. On the road above the collonade are Weston-super-Mare trams and a Bristol bus competing for a share of the trade on the sea front route between the Old Pier and the Sanatorium. This only happened in the summers of 1934, 1935 and 1936, after which the bus operater bought out and shut down the tram system.
