Rückseite: NVLLI CONCEDIT PRIMAM TRADITQVE SEQVENTI. // SAECVLARI ALTERO / AVG : CONFESS : [Der Held wich keinem nicht, und bracht auf andre auch der Wahrheit helles Licht. Manilius, Astronomica, 4. Buch, Vers 27]. Zwei Krieger in römischer Tracht halten ein geöffnetes Buch (Augsburger Konfession). Im Mittelpunkt steht eine weibliche Gestalt mit Kreuz und Kelch.

Kommentar: Georg der Fromme führte 1528 die Reformation in Franken durch. Die Tochter Sabina (1529-1575), von seiner zweiten Gattin Hedwig, war mit dem Kurfürsten Johann Georg von Brandenburg (1571-1598) verheiratet. - Von der Medaille existieren in der Berliner Sammlung neben dem goldenen Exemplar auch eines in Silber, eines in Bronze und eines in Zinn mit Kupferstift.
