Summary[edit]

Description
English: Birthplace of William Morris. East London Buses, formerly Stagecoach operations, have a monopoly on the three routes over the important and ancient entry to London from the former Essex over Lea Bridge, all worked from Leyton Garage (T). A Dennis Trident- Alexander passes the Red House just before entering the London Borough of Hackney, en route to London Bridge. Behind the camera the temporary (Spring 2009)sludge haulage operation for dredged material from the River Lea is carried out. The planning application for 167 residential units at Essex Wharf, E5 has been turned down by Waltham Forest, in which this bit of E5 lies. I like to think of Waltham Forest as the home (but not birth place) of Vivian Stanshall.

17596 ( LV52HHE ) an ALX400 Alexander bodied Dennis Trident. Leyton Garage has about 120 of these vehicles for the 48, 55, 56 69 97 and 230, N26 and a few late 26 journeys.. And very smart they all are. For an orgy of Leyton bus activity see here More about the 48 route, and the sale of Stagecoach's London operations to Macquarie Bank here

Funnily enough, the LB of WF which advertises William Morris on its signs, and has a museum to him in his former home, just can't wait to get shot of its priceless cultural asset

Route 48 abolished October 2019, 55 route extended to Walthamstow, 388 to London Bridge.
