Description
Deutsch: Aufschluss (Wegböschung) eines stark zerütteten Weißjura-Gesteins bei Veringenstadt an der Lauchert, Schwäbische Alb.

Der Aufschluss läßt drei geologische Eigenschaften erkennen, die für die verkarstete Schwäbische Alb typisch sind.

1. In den zahlreichen Rissen und Klüften können Niederschläge leicht versickern. 2. Der linsenähnliche Teil mit der braunen Verfärbung zeigt erste Ergebnisse von Verwitterung (chemische und mechanische Verwandlung von Kalk in feine, mergelige Substanzen). 3. Der Oberboden über Weißjura-Gestein ist dünn.

English: Outcrop at a country road of heavily shattered White Jurassic rock, vicinity of Veringenstadt, Swabian Alb.
Three properties, typical for karstified limestone of the Swabian Alb can be distinguished: 1. Precipitation may easily seep through cracks and joints. 2. The brownish coloured middle is a result of slow chemical weathering. 3. Top soil in White Jurassic is thin.
