Summary[edit]

Description

English: One of 5 karst springs of the “Weißer Kocher ”, east of Unterkochen. The springs emerge in a narrow valley of the South German White Jurassic in the “Untere Felsenkalk-Formation (ki2)”. The Weißer Kocher merges with the “Black Kocher” to form the Kocher, which runs through the north of Baden-Württemberg and flows into the Neckar. On its way down the valley the Weißer Kocher deposited large quantities of “Kalktuff” (a very cavernous travertine calcium carbonate), which served as building limestones for housing in Unterkochen.
