The main armament of most vessels of the Marine Protector class are a pair of traditional Browning M2 machine guns, a design that predates WW2, where the gunner uses traditional, inaccurate "iron sights". The Cochito, and a few other vessels, later had a third Browning machine gun mounted on a pedestal, on the foredeck. The third weapons are equipped with modern electro-optical and infrared sights, and were operated by remote control, from the bridge, and were much more accurate. A tarpaulin covers the weapon. They are light enough they can be unshipped and stored elsewhere.
