Description
English: Caterpiller (Tyria jacobaeae) munching on ragwort in West Yorkshire. The poison in the ragwort doesn't kill the caterpiller, but on the contrary it is deposed inside the animal - and eventually transferred to the butterfly. In that way both caterpillar and butterfly turn poisonous for their enemies.
Dansk: Larve (Tyria jacobaeae), der æder af en Brandbæger i West Yorkshire. Plantegiften dræber ikke larven, men i stedet afsættes den i dyret - og overføres til slut til den voksne sommerfugl. Både larve og sommerfugl bliver på den måde giftige for deres fjender.
