Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A river bank filtration plant that provides a good part of the drinking water supply of Mainz, Germany. Located on the eastern bank of the Rhine, south of the Kaiserbrücke. The little walkway in the left front allows access to the building even when floods cover this part of the low-lying floodplain. Same for the little floating wharf (in the photo resting on the ground) which provides boat access. Germans DO like to have backups!
